  1. As Martin (2012) explain psychological testing often involves prejudice, which is detrimental to those with different cultural backgrounds, language barriers, psychological orientations, and even test anxiety. They are probably the best candidates for this job, but they were eliminated during the recruitment process. Given the value of diversity and ethical business practices in today's world, you should thoroughly consider using psychometrics so that you don't suddenly find legal actions are coming to your direction.

  2. False understanding of Test Results:Disproportionate clarification of a test report is highly hazardous for the entire evaluation mechanism. A certain candidate might lack the basic knowledge about the test and based on the assessment, the employer can make decisions that might not be appropriate for the selection process. Hence, before interpreting the test results, the expertise of the test-providers must be exploited to acquire the desired result with utmost precision.

  3. Agreed. When the growing costs of recruiting suitable candidates are much higher, the standard recruitment process begins with a review of the curriculum vitae, followed by a telephone or an interview. Using short and powerful web-based psychometric tests is very effective and cost-saving (Bateson et al., 2014).

  8. Hi Oshantha, I would like to add a few more benefits to psychometric testing. For instance, these tests help in attracting the right people to apply, by modifying the ad to attract the personality in demand (Ghosh, 2018). While assisting with employee's preferred communication style, psychometric tests also help in reducing attrition rates and improving productivity (Alexander, 2019).

  9. Hi Oshantha. I too agree on the fact that Psychometric tests are used vividly in the recruitment process because it screens the individual thoroughly and gives a better impression of who he really is than the other recruitment interview options (Rehman, 2012).

  10. Hi Oshantha ,Psychometric methods are highly concerning about suitability of the applicant on the job positions. IQ tests, work sample tests, verbal reasonings can be identified as some common psychometric tests. These tests contain benefits and drawbacks as well. Based on my opinion, it can be noted that the writer has successfully covered all the important points in the use of psychometric method and its importance on the modern organizations. Healy (2008), has stated that psychometric methods help to choose the best person for the right position

  11. Agreed, Each organization makes its hiring process tough so that they can get to their workforce the best candidates. This helps them to be high on the market and also helps them manage the organization's growth and development.
To make it possible to try all kinds of tests on candidates by employers or recruiters. And psychometric tests are one such effective test out of them. The main objective of this test is to assess the personality, skills and aptitude of the candidate.

When it comes to the Global context world best recruiting companies use the pith of this methodologies perfectly in parallel to the manual processors eg. The Adecco Group in Switzerland.

  13. Cook (1997) is also of the opinion that psychometric tests are still sometimes used by people who are not well informed about the issues of measurement and bias. He refers to the fact that the task of the profession is made more difficult by a lack of sophistication among users in the field. Accordingly, it is clear that tests are still used by some people without a deep understanding of the nature of assessment and the problems associated with it. Under these conditions, information and general education in terms of testing, seem to be the most efficient way of action.
