ReplyDeleteAfter personally testing it out on myself, I would like to mention that another flaw in the MBTI test is that it does not provide definite answers. There are quite a number of people, including myself, who consider themselves as hybrids of different personalities. Companies should therefore exercise caution when using these and should not rely on the results of these tests as the final verdict of the capabilities of potential employees (Inamura, 2018)

ReplyDeleteI agree with the strengths and weaknesses mentioned in your statements. The MBTI mainly supports in understanding the personal behavior and at the same time it scans the strengths and weaknesses of humans (Bayne, 1998). On the other hand MBTI test carries its own weaknesses such as misinterpretations and misuses for other works as well as subject to manipulation.
ReplyDeleteMore informative on strengths and weaknesses while adding the strengths, Team based psychological test will enhance the team productivity. This type of affect will directly increase the team effectiveness and output.by giving proper training on group psychological test, organization can gain more returns on terms of efficiency and productivity (Admas and Pridie,2013).
ReplyDeleteVery valuable details. To quote from the MBTI manual (Myers & McCaulley, 1985, p. 1) 'The MBTI is based on Jung's ideas about perception and judgement, and the attitudes (or orientations towards life) in which these are used in different types of people.' (Cripps, 2017).
ReplyDeleteHi Oshantha,Pittenger (1994) disagreed about the accuracy of the experiment and claimed that sufficient evidence could not confirm the reliability of the MBTI.But it could give resonable idea about the personality type.
ReplyDeleteDespite the popularity and increase in the usage of psychometric testing in recruitment, there
ReplyDeleteis still some debate in the organizational psychology field as to whether the personality
measures should be used in recruitment and selection or not (Morgeson, et al, 2007). Many
researchers believe that psychometric testing used in the recruitment process is not valid and
can be fake (Scroggins, et al, 2008).
MBTI mainly refers to understanding the behaviors and strengths and weaknesses of humans (Bayne, 1998).Further this procedure acts useful reference points to understand unique personality (Jung, C.G. 1957).But when it comes to the practical procedures, considering the weaknesses, team based tests might be more successful than the individual once.
